Design Family

A group of items under the same design or style is named as "Design Family". 
All size/style variations and/or color variations based on the same design shall belong to one Design Family.

For example, see the below sofa.  In this case, one Design Family named "Epice Sofa" is registered, which covers all the size/style variations as follows.

• 1 Seater

• 2 Seater

• 3 Seater

• Ottoman

Consideration when you register a design family

Regular furniture items having Mesh(s)

1. All meshes in one and the same Design Family will be listed in the Item Setting’s “Form & Size Variations” tab.
   

   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   

   Show multiple meshes (under one Design Family) on the catalog
   
   If one mesh cannot represent the whole variations of the design family, you can show multiple meshes on the catalog.

   

   
   

2. A definition on each material slot shall apply to all Meshes under the same Design Family.

3. Each product name is dynamically created based on the combination of the Design Family name and the Mesh name.

4. For each Design Family, you can set Brand, Designer, Artist or Style.
   

5. One chunk shall be assigned to one Design Family. A chunk is a downloading unit at the App.

2．Items having no Mesh (Wallpapers, Floors, etc.)

1. Design Family is an unit to create a collection covering a certain scope of materials. You can set the catalog visibility at a Design Version record under the Design Family.
   
   For each Design Family, you can set Brand, Designer, Artist or Style. One chunk shall be assigned to one Design Family. A chunk is an downloading unit at the App.
